Think Porsche owners are a stuffy bunch?

Then you weren't at our recent Annual Banquet.

In a repeat of last year's success, a great time was had by all attending the Annual Banquet and 2002 Autocross Awards held February 1st at the Mayfair Golf & Country Club.  Attendance was in the triple digits, setting a record for the Region and attesting to the fun-loving nature of the members and their guests.  Their faces tell the story ...

For Service Above and Beyond the Call ...

Presentation of Merit Award to Robert Drew
The PCA Polar Region's Merit Ward was presented by previous recipient Paul Conquest to this years recipient Robert Drew for his exemplary efforts as both Newsletter Editor and organizer for the evening's festivities (
»text of presentation speech).

Bob Drew accepts Merit Award
In the two weeks preceding the banquet, and entirely unaware that he had already been selected as this year's Merit Award recipient, Bob had been running what he thought was a successful campaign to have the Merit Award presented to someone else.  Captured above in what was obviously a state of surprise at the turn of events, Bob graciously accepts the Merit Award.

And for a Little After-dinner Entertainment ...

Following dinner, Bob Drew presented a pictorial review of the 2002 season.  As the tradition continued from last year, there were also a few Dubious Achievement Awards mixed in ...

Last but certainly not least, this event would not have been
the success it was without the advance preparation and hard work of
Bob & Lois Drew (organization), Matthew J. Hargrave (presentation graphics),
Angel Dufault (programs & entrée cards), and Laurel Rudolph (guest nametags)

for which the rest of us are grateful.
